   First Baptist Church Tour 1

Members of the Church Historical Records Committee will be in the 7th Street N. foyer. Displays showing First Baptist's history as well as tours of the sanctuary's beautiful stained glass windows will be available.

  Annunciation Catholic Church Tour 1  
808 College Street

Dedicated in 1863, Annunciation Catholic Church is the oldest Catholic Church in northeast MS. It once served a parish that included Corinth and Meridian. The design for the Gothic structure was conceived by Fr. J.B. Mouton, the first pastor. The new addition was completed in 2001.

Mass is Sunday at 8am and 10:30am,
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8am,
Thursday at 8:30am at Annunciation Catholic School,
and Tuesday at 5:30pm.

 

   St. Paul's Episcopal Church Tour 1  
318 College Street

The stained glass windows of this Gothic-designed church depict the life of Christ. A beautiful stained glass window from the Tiffany company was dedicated in 1896. The former rectory was the home to playwright Tennessee Williams. His grandfather, The Rev. Walter Dakin, served as rector at St. Paul's in 1911, the year Tennessee was born.

  Main Street Presbyterian Church Tour 2

Main Street Presbyterian Church was chartered on May 3, 1829 by missionaries from Mayhew Mission. The building was torn down in 1884. Completed in 1885, the church was built according to the latest style of architecture of that period. This is the present day sanctuary. Stained glass windows depict much Christian symbolism. The church underwent a major renovation in 1995.

  First United Methodist Church Tour 2

The First United Methodist Church is the oldest church organization in Columbus. The present building was begun in 1860 with a membership of 334 and completed in 1867.
